"Im więcej myślę o człowieku
Cierpienie w naszym świecie i moje pragnienie ofiarowania
Odpowiedź uzdrawiająca, tym bardziej zdaję sobie sprawę
Kluczowe jest, aby nie stać się
Sparaliżowany uczuciem impotencji i
wina.
Ciemność pociąga mnie do rozpaczy i mnie zmusza
Jeden z ich wielu ofiar. muszę
Trzymaj się oczu w Jezusie i na tych
Którzy poszli za Nim i ufali, że będę wiedział
Jak żyć moją misją, aby być znakiem
Nadzieja na tym świecie ".

Parish History

St Peter’s parish was established in Carmondean, Livingston in 1982. The first parish priest, Father Joseph McMullan, arrived in the parish on 25 November 1982. The following year saw the opening of the church on the Feast of the Chair of St Peter on 22 February 1983.

The next important date was in October 1983 when Father McMullan established a Conference of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society with a group of around 12 people nearly all below the age of fifty at that time. The first president was Mr Steve O’Neill and under his guidance the Conference flourished attracting many more members in the years which followed.

In 1988 a youth conference was set up and with Father McMullan’s blessing and Steve O’Neill’s guidance a group of around twenty young people became involved in the SVDP.

The parish’s Silver Jubilee was celebrated in 2007 with the installation of a new stained glass window in celebration of service given the the priests of the parish: Fr Joseph McMullan, Fr Gerard Fitsimmond, Fr John Robinson, Fr Gerard Prior and Fr Peter Kelly.
